Set at the apex of Julius Caesar's power in Rome, JULIUS CAESAR traces the path of the conspirators against Caesar, led by a jealous Cassius and a well-intended, if naive, Brutus. Their murderous actions against Caesar, which they meant to preserve the Roman Republic, instead open the door to Marc Antony and Octavius Caesar, two of the leaders of the new Roman Empire.

Inspired by Orson Welles' 1937 modern-dress staging for The Mercury Theatre, this fast-paced version of CAESAR is intended for middle school and high school audiences, presenting the conflicted Brutus as the central character, a prototypical Shakespeare figure that pre-dates creation of the most famous Shakespeare protagonists, Hamlet and Macbeth.

JULIUS CAESAR will be available at locations throughout Chicagoland, and is available to tour to your school (auditorium with lighting system required - call for details and pricing).
