2017/18 UPDATES
(August 19, 2017) After a record-breaking number of performances in 2016/17, we've bumped up capacity at GreatWorks, making it even easier for us to run mulitiple performances in separate locations at the same time. The good news is that it means we can take even more bookings this year - the BETTER news (for us) is that pre-school year bookings are already through the roof, so if you're looking to book us, NOW is when you want to let us know.

We will be doing overhauls on 50 STATES, FRACTURED FAIRY TALES, CHICAGO, and THE MONEY SHOW! to freshen them up. In addition, we've:

We're still in the process of updating all of our booking software, so you won't see the new dates for 2017/18 until around August 20, but in the meantime, if there's a specific show you're looking to book, please feel free to contact us at 888-588-7850 or email us here.

Cinema Academy & GreatWorks Merging Into One Company
(September 11, 2014) Cinema Academy started representing GreatWorks as our booking agency back in 1995, when GW's shows were still part of Splinter Group Theatre's programming mix. That first year had one production on offer ("The Investigation"), playing to a few thousand middle-school audiences at Theatre 773 on the northside.

Since that time, a lot of things changed. Splinter Group became Irish Repertory of Chicago in 2000, then spun off the educational programming as a stand-alone company in 2005. At the same time, Cinema Academy shifted from primarily selling tickets to films (hence their name) into being ocused on live performances, with GW's touring shows and educational tours being the bulk of their business.

But effective this month, GreatWorks and Cinema Academy have become one, operating under the name Cinema Academy/GreatWorks, Inc.

We'll be looking at the possibility of renaming the combined company over the course of this school year, but in the meantime, we've already taken steps to improve the overall experience of working with us.

We've moved all of our order confirmation and processing to a new online format, where you'll receive emailed confirmation of your order the same day it's placed, and take care of processing your group's deposit at the same time you call in your order.

Each field trip show now has an Event Manager to make sure you've got all the information and materials you need prior to the day of performance, and check you in when you get there.

New dates and shows at Cutting Hall in Palatine and at College of Lake County, and increased shows in Chicago, many of them in the 600-seat theater at the Irish American Heritage Center at Wilson and 90/94. Easy to reach, and easy to unload and reload your busses, since they never have to leave the secured parking lot adjacent to the theater.

More changes to come - stay tuned!
